Therapy Intensives

In addition to weekly therapy sessions, I offer intensives ranging from a half day up to three days. Intensives are extended sessions that allow for deep, focused work in a condensed period of time. This format is especially beneficial for individuals or couples looking to make significant progress more quickly. A three-day intensive can often accomplish what might normally take several months of weekly therapy to achieve.

Before booking an intensive, I will spend time with you to clearly understand your goals, set expectations appropriately, and establish that an intensive makes sense given the circumstances. I tailor the intensive experience for you based on your needs.

An intensive can be great to…

  • deeply process without interruptions, distractions, or a need to watch the clock

  • address an immediate crisis or respond to a sense of urgency

  • jumpstart weekly or biweekly therapy

Intensives Locations

  • I currently offer in-person intensives for individuals and couples in Nashville. Upon request, I can provide a list of suggested area hotels for those traveling from out of town.

  • Alternatively, I can come to you, and if you would like to inquire about booking an intensive in another part of Tennessee or South Carolina, I am happy to discuss the options and additional fees.

If you’re looking for deep, transformative work and prefer a focused, efficient format, therapy intensives may be an excellent option.

Key Benefits of Intensives

Immediate Crisis Intervention

Intensives are particularly helpful for managing urgent or crisis situations, such as relationship conflicts, trauma responses, or overwhelming life transitions.

For couples, intensives can be a powerful way to address deep relationship wounds or patterns of conflict that may feel overwhelming in shorter sessions. The focused time can facilitate more profound emotional repair and understanding.

In-Depth Exploration & Focus

Intensive sessions allow us to dive deeply into complex issues without the time constraints of traditional hourly therapy. You have the opportunity to explore layers of thoughts, feelings, and patterns that might take multiple shorter sessions to uncover. The extended time frame allows us to address issues more fully without having to pause at the end of a typical session.

Faster Progress

Intensives allow for concentrated, immersive work, which can lead to breakthroughs more quickly. If you’re dealing with a significant issue such as trauma, relationship struggles, or emotional blocks, this format can help you make more rapid progress toward your goals.

Who Might Benefit Most from Intensives?

Couples in Distress

Intensives are particularly beneficial for couples facing major relationship challenges, including infidelity, communication breakdowns, or a crisis of trust.

Busy Professionals or Frequent Travelers

Intensives can be a practical option for those who cannot commit to weekly sessions but still want to prioritize their mental and emotional health.

Individuals Processing Trauma

People dealing with trauma, grief, PTSD, or deep-seated emotional wounds can find intensives helpful for working through these complex issues in a contained and focused way.

Individuals or Couples Facing Life Transitions

Pre-marital counseling, pre-baby counseling, ending old relationships or starting new ones – these are all major life transitions, and intensives can be very helpful in preparing to navigate life during changing circumstances.
